PDG Course Design Standards
Design Goals
1. Meet the design goals of the people that approve use of the land .
2. Course design is to be safe for players and non-players who pass near or through the course.
3. Course Design to serve both beginners and advance
4. Design a well-balanced course with a good mix of holes requiring controlled shots left, right and straight throws.
Course Design Elements
1. SPACE:
A recreational course requires up to .5 acre per hole. A championship course needs 1 acre per hole.
2. HOLE COUNT:
Most new courses now are either 12,18,24 or 27 holes.
3. LENGTH:
Holes vary in length from 150 to 900ft
